We are hiring a Light Commercial Mechanic. After initial probationary period, not to exceed 30 days of employment the employee will become a union member with full health insurance and pension.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Light Commercial HVAC Mechanic to join our team! You will be responsible for the complete installation from start to finish including reviewing job specs.  to installation of HVAC equipment and sheet metal.  Other responsibilities include:

Responsibilities for Mechanic

• Participate in the development and implementation of HVAC light commercial jobs including reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications
• Coordinate HVAC work activities with operations ensuring a safe and effective project.
• Coordinate and execute required and preventative maintenance of assigned jobs.
• Complete work and repair orders in a timely fashion
• Estimate time and extent of repairs
• Maintain material and supply inventory
• Provide lead direction to assigned helpers and oversee work performed
• Assist helpers in diagnosing HVAC system problems and provided coaching on appropriate techniques to resolve issues
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Heavy travel across NJ.

​Qualifications:

• 3 – 5 years working in HVAC environment, or combination equivalent to experience and education that would provide the required knowledge and abilities.
• Must be able to interpret and follow directions with minimal supervision
• Thorough understanding of HVAC systems and troubleshooting/diagnosing problems.
• Knowledge of safe, proper and basic use of the tools, machinery, equipment and supplies used in the skilled trades.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Familiarity with maintenance tools and HVAC equipment
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Ability to work in extreme temperature conditions
• Ability to climb ladders
• Valid NJ driver’s license and clean driving record
• Deadline and detail-oriented
